In the summertime Sandpoint is most famous for Lake Pend Oreille and its 130 miles of shoreline. People can spend 10 years here without ever exploring every nook and crany. If a local says “looks like the lake is crowded today!” that means that there might be one boat on the horizon. If sailing is your thing every Thursday during the summer the local sailing club hosts a small race followed by cocktail hour and dinner. The area has hundreds of miles of hiking trails into pristine lakes, waterfalls and mountain tops.
